Protect your Farm Fuel from Thieves

We’ve been getting a lot of feedback from our clients about their fuel being stolen. Recently, we heard about a farmer who had 10,000 gallons of diesel stolen. At $5.50/gal thatโ€™s a $55,000 loss. This seems to be happening more frequently given the current increase in gas prices. We don’t see gas prices going down anytime soon, so this is something we wanted to make you aware of. Here are some stories from across the country as well as in Washington on this topic:

Some preventative measures you can take include:

  • Park equipment in well-lit, well-traveled locations.ย  In a covered garage or driveway is best whenever possible
  • Position the equipment so that the fuel door can be seen from the main road
  • Consider installing a locking gas cap

In light of the situation, we have some solutions we’d like to talk to you about and personalize based on your individual needs.ย  ย If youโ€™d like to discuss, please schedule some time on the calendar and weโ€™ll set you up with one of our farm experts.ย ย Click here to schedule:
